Research Scientist at IBM Research China

I am a research scientist at IBM Research China, located in Beijing, since July 2019. Before I joined IBM, I got my Ph.D. degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology in Tsinghua University in July 2019. My supervisor at Tsinghua was Prof. Ting Chen. During my Ph.D. career, I also spent one year as a jointly Ph.D. student in Cornell University supervised by Prof. Fei Wang, funded by China Scholarship Council.

Currently, I focus on applying artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning methods to healthcare data analysis. In particular, I am interested in data representation for Electronic Health Records (EHRs), time series clinical data, and medical images, using either deep learning or statistical models. I am committed to developing models with robustness (generalization ability), interpretability and safety (privacy preservation) for various healthcare scenarios.
